Aramco Digital and Cumulocity Power Up the GCC

Aramco Digital and Cumulocity partner to bring advanced, real-time AIoT asset intelligence to the GCC’s massive industrial sectors

Aramco Digital has signed an agreement with software provider Cumulocity to deploy industrial artificial intelligence and internet-of-things (AIoT) technology across the Gulf Cooperation Council region. Capitalising on a push for industrial digitalisation, the deal, finalised in April, targets operations in energy, logistics, and infrastructure.

Operational deployment has already begun within Saudi Arabia. Fleet management systems for Saudi Aramco now use the core platform to track connected vehicles and industrial assets in real time.

Nabil Al-Nuaim, chief executive of Aramco Digital, said, "By combining a proven industrial AIoT platform with strong regional execution capabilities, we are enabling organizations to connect critical assets, enhance operational insight, and translate data into measurable business outcomes."

Large, geographically distributed asset networks across the Gulf have historically faced technical and logistical barriers to enterprise-scale deployment. This venture seeks to address these friction points by combining international software with local engineering and lifecycle support.

Bernd Gross, chief executive of Cumulocity, described Aramco Digital as an ideal partner for scaling advanced internet-of-things systems, citing its track record with complex transformation programmes.

State-backed digital initiatives are accelerating across the region. As Gulf states look to modernise production, partnerships between international technology providers and domestic entities are becoming the standard template for converting automation investments into operational infrastructure.
